Hotels.com Promo Codes: Where to Enter Them and Every Way to Save With One Key

Hotels.com books hotels, vacation rentals and car rentals around the world, and it gives you two ways to save: promotional codes, and its free One Key rewards program, with Member Prices and OneKeyCash. This guide covers both, with every detail taken from Hotels.com's own site and help center.

Where to enter a Hotels.com promo code

1. Search for your stay, choose a property and select Reserve.
2. In Your payment options, choose Pay now rather than Reserve now, pay later. It is the payment option that takes a code.
3. On the payment page, under Price details, select "Use a coupon or gift card", then "Use a coupon".
4. Type the code in the Coupon code box and select Apply. For a coupon saved to your account, select "Sign in to use a coupon in your account".
5. Check the discounted total in your price details, then book.

In the Hotels.com app, the "Apply a coupon" option sits on the checkout page, below the payment details and before your personal information.

The rules that decide whether a code works

• Pay Now only. Codes cannot be used for Pay Later bookings, and hotels and vacation rentals that only collect payment at the property are not eligible.
• New bookings only. A code cannot be added to a stay you have already booked.
• Room price, before taxes and fees. The discount comes off the price of the room; taxes and fees are added after.
• One room. If you book several rooms, the discount applies to the price of one room.
• Device-specific codes. Some codes work only on mobile or only on desktop.
• Big chains. Hotels.com's help center notes that big hotel chains such as Accor, Marriott and Hilton are usually excluded.
• Changes and cancellations. If you change or cancel a booking made with a coupon, the coupon is lost and cannot be redeemed again.

Where do codes come from? Hotels.com sends them to newsletter subscribers and through other promotions, and some can be saved to your account straight from the email. To sign up, go to Account, then Email Preferences, and check the box for promotional emails.

One Key: Member Prices and OneKeyCash

One Key is free, and Hotels.com shares it with Expedia and Vrbo. Sign in before you search and you get:

• Member Prices: 10% or more off on over 350,000 stays worldwide, excluding taxes and fees.
• OneKeyCash: 2% back for every dollar spent on eligible hotels, vacation rentals and car rentals. $1 in OneKeyCash is $1 to use on eligible hotels and car rentals, on Pay Now bookings, with no blackout dates and no minimum.
• Save Your Way: take your member discount instantly at checkout, or turn it into rewards for a future trip.

OneKeyCash arrives three days after you complete most Pay Now trips (about 45 days for Pay Later). It does not expire as long as you make an eligible booking at least once within 18 months, although OneKeyCash from promotions can expire sooner.

One Key tiers

Each hotel room night, vacation rental night and car rental day worth $25 or more counts as one trip element, and tiers are earned over a calendar year.

Silver and above also get priority traveler support (Platinum VIP support at the top tier) and a perk such as free breakfast at select VIP Access properties. Gold and Platinum members get room upgrades when available: a higher floor, a better view or the next room category.

VIP Access properties

VIP Access is a collection of over 10,000 properties chosen for consistently exceptional service, partly through traveler reviews. Look for the VIP logo in your search results, or sort and filter your search to show only VIP Access stays.

Deals that need no code

• The Hotels.com deals page: savings of 20% or more on popular hotels, plus member-only and last-minute deals.
• Price alerts: set one on a stay and Hotels.com shows whether a rate is high, low or just right.
• Free cancellation: many stays offer it, and each shows its cancellation policy before you book.

Ways to pay

• Pay now online, which is also the option that takes coupons and OneKeyCash.
• Pay later at the hotel, in the hotel's local currency.
• Reserve now, pay later: nothing is charged at booking, and your card is charged automatically on a set date.
• Monthly installments through a payment partner, on Pay Now bookings.

Why is my Hotels.com code not working?

Check that you chose Pay Now, that it is a new booking, that the code fits your device (some are mobile or desktop only) and that it has not expired. Big chains such as Accor, Marriott and Hilton are usually excluded.

Does Hotels.com still have a price guarantee?

Its Hotel Price Guarantee ended on July 28, 2026, as part of updates to One Key; eligible bookings made before that date still qualify.

Are there One Key credit cards?
