Sometimes. Best Buy's own help page says it sometimes offers promotional codes or digital coupons for special offers, and some of them only work in stores. Most Best Buy savings need no code: sale prices, member prices, the Price Match Guarantee, the Outlet and coupons from trade-ins and recycling. The item must be new, identical in brand, model number and color, sold by Best Buy and immediately available from the competitor, and items from Marketplace sellers don't qualify. Competitor prices aren't matched from November 19 to 30, 2026, the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the Monday after.

If you already have the order, its Order Details page shows whether a price match is available. Best Buy allows one price match per identical item, per customer, at the current pre-tax price.

Yes. If Best Buy lowers its in-store, online or app price during your return period, it matches the lower price when you ask. For the 2026 holidays, most products bought from October 30 to December 31 can be matched to a lower Best Buy price until January 15, 2027.

Plus and Total members earn 0.5 points per $1, or 1% back, the My Best Buy Credit Card earns 2.5 points per $1, or 5% back, when you choose Standard Credit rather than financing, and members who use the card get both, 6% back. Points left unused are turned into certificates automatically around March 1 each year. To keep the account open, make a qualifying purchase at least once every 24 months, or keep a My Best Buy Credit Card open.

New cardholders get 10% back in rewards on their first day of purchases at Best Buy, if that day falls within 14 days of opening the account and they choose Standard Credit, or they can choose financing instead. After that the card earns 5% back on Best Buy purchases; rewards need Standard Credit rather than a financing offer. The cards are issued by Citibank, and Best Buy's card disclosure lists an annual fee of $0 to $59, based on creditworthiness. You can check whether you prequalify without affecting your credit score.

With the My Best Buy Credit Card, Best Buy offers financing on storewide purchases: 12 months from $299, 24 months on unlocked phones from $649, and until December 25, 2026, 18 months from $499 and 24 months from $699. You can also pay over time with Zip in 4 or 8 payments, or lease to own with Progressive Leasing on purchases from $225, which Best Buy says costs more than the cash price and isn't offered in MN, NJ, VT, WI, WY or Puerto Rico.

They aren't on Best Buy's list of payment methods. Its buy now, pay later option is Zip: 4 or 8 payments due every 2 weeks, with an origination fee of $4 to $7.50 for 4 payments or $8 to $60 for 8, and not available in New Mexico or Vermont. Best Buy also takes PayPal and Apple Pay, and Progressive Leasing for lease-to-own.

Best Buy runs student deals through its Student Hub, mostly for back to school, and the hub says some student discounts come as coupon codes on select items. It doesn't list a standing student percentage off, so check the Student Hub for what's current.

Best Buy's site doesn't list a military or teacher discount program. Its savings are open to anyone: the Price Match Guarantee, the Outlet and, for Plus and Total members, member prices. Best Buy also says it is temporarily unable to ship to APO, DPO or FPO addresses.

Black Friday is November 27, 2026, and Best Buy's deals start well before it: early Black Friday deals and doorbusters from November 6, with new deals every Friday, then 10 days of Black Friday doorbusters and deals from November 19. Black Friday deals are limited quantity with no rainchecks, and Best Buy stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Cyber Monday 2026 at Best Buy is November 30, part of its Cyber Sunday and Monday sale event. Best Buy calls it an entirely new sale rather than Black Friday leftovers, and its Cyber Week deals run December 1 to 6, followed by a Last-Minute Savings Event from December 18 to 24.

Open-box items can't be price matched, so compare the condition and price before you buy.

Open-box items are returned products, discounted according to their wear. Refurbished products are restored, verified to work and include all essential parts. Clearance items are brand-new, end-of-stock products, still factory sealed with the full manufacturer's warranty.

Best Buy pays for your old device with a Best Buy eGift Card: up to $750 for a phone, $1,800 for a tablet, $2,000 for a computer, $350 for a wearable and $160 for headphones, depending on the device. It also takes old tech for recycling, however old it is and wherever you bought it, and some recycling earns a coupon, such as 20% off Logitech accessories. Until November 15, 2026, trading in an eligible tablet or e-reader also earns a 20% off coupon toward a new Amazon tablet or e-reader.
