Search for a Verizon promo code and you will find long lists of codes. Most of them aren't for Verizon at all: when we checked the public coupon feeds in October 2026, the "Verizon codes" included T-Mobile and Amazon codes and registration codes for tech conferences. The real savings at Verizon come from the plan you pick and the discounts you qualify for. This guide explains both, and where a genuine Verizon promo code goes, with every rule taken from Verizon's own pages.
For Verizon's current offers, see our Verizon deals and promo codes page.
Shopping at Verizon?
Check your discounts before you pick a plan
- ✓Promo codes go in the shopping cart
- ✓Student and nurse discounts appear in the final step
Where to enter a Verizon promo code
Verizon's own buying steps put the promo code in the shopping cart:
- Choose your phone and plan and add them to your cart.
- In the shopping cart, review your order and confirm your selections.
- Enter any promo codes you have and review your estimated sales tax.
- Click Checkout, then review the checkout page to complete your order.
Discounts tied to who you are work differently. Verizon says a student or nurse discount won't show up in your shopping cart, but you'll see it in the final step of your order and on your bill in 1-2 billing cycles. So a missing discount in the cart doesn't mean it failed.
Students: 10% off every month
For students at U.S. colleges, grad and vocational schools
- ✓Simplicity from $27/line/mo for new customers who switch
- ✓Fios from $26/mo
10% off every month: students
Verizon's student discount takes 10% off every month on mobile plans, and it also applies to Fios home internet. The rules from Verizon's student page:
Nurses, teachers, military, first responders
10% off every month with Those Who Serve
- ✓Verification required
- ✓Also on Fios home internet
- Who qualifies: students actively enrolled, including online, at a U.S. college, graduate school or vocational school. Verification documents are required.
- How long: up to four years, as long as you pass the annual eligibility check.
- Account rules: the student must be the Account Owner or Account Manager, with a maximum of 12 lines.
- What it adds up to: with Auto Pay and the Switch & Save discount, new customers switching to the Simplicity plan pay as little as $27 per line per month, plus taxes and fees. Fios with the student discount starts at $26 a month for Fios 300 Mbps with Auto Pay.
- Combining: it combines with other offers, except the teacher, nurse, first-responder and military discounts.
10% off for nurses, teachers, military and first responders
Verizon's Those Who Serve discount gives the same 10% off every month to eligible military, first responders, teachers and nurses (RNs, LPNs, LVNs and nurse practitioners), with verification documents required. On a mobile plan, new customers switching to Simplicity pay as little as $27 per line per month after Auto Pay and Switch & Save, and Fios starts at $26 a month for 300 Mbps with Auto Pay, with a $99 setup fee. Like the student discount, it can't be combined with the other group discounts.
The Simplicity Plan: $30 a month per line
Verizon's Simplicity Plan is one plan at one price: $30 a month per line after Auto Pay and the $15/mo switcher discount, plus taxes and fees. Verizon's plan page lists 5G Ultra Wideband, Verizon Dollars, talk, text and data in Mexico and Canada, satellite features, 10 GB of mobile hotspot data, and call filter with Verizon Family.
Two discounts make up the gap between the list price and $30:
- Auto Pay: $10/mo. Auto Pay (by bank account or Verizon Visa Card) with paper-free billing, which you have to set up within 30 days.
- Switch & Save: $15/mo. You need to port in a smartphone line, or upload a mobile bill from an eligible carrier dated within the past 45 days.
Verizon's switch page also lets you pay off a new phone over 12, 24, 36 or 48 months, offers a free 30-day trial, and lists 40% savings on top streaming services and free satellite texting.
Switch to Verizon for $30/line
Simplicity Plan after Auto Pay and the switcher discount
- ✓Pay off a phone over 12 to 48 months
- ✓Free 30-day trial
Verizon Visa Card: a $150 credit and 4% back
The Verizon Visa Signature Card, issued by Synchrony Bank, currently offers a $150 statement credit when you open an account and make one purchase in the first 90 days. It's a limited-time offer and subject to credit approval:
- The credit posts 1-2 billing cycles after your purchase. It can't be used to cover the card's minimum payment or be redeemed for cash.
- The card earns 4% on gas, grocery store, dining and Verizon store purchases (excluding bill payment), and 1% on everything else, with no cap on the 4% categories.
- Rewards can go toward your Verizon bill and don't expire, and the card has no annual fee.
- Paying your Verizon bill with it counts for the $10/mo Auto Pay discount.
A credit card isn't right for everyone. Check the full terms and rates on Verizon's page before you apply.

Home internet: Fios, 5G Home and Deals at Work
Verizon's Deals at Work program gives active employees of participating organizations a discount on Verizon home internet, with verification required. Fios plans start at $26 a month for Fios 300 Mbps with Auto Pay, with a $99 setup fee, and 5G Home Internet starts at $30 a month with Auto Pay, the employee discount and any Verizon mobile phone plan. Deals at Work discounts may not be combined with other discount programs, and you get one per account. To use it, check your eligibility, then follow the unique ordering link Verizon emails you.
Why most "Verizon promo codes" don't work
The codes on coupon sites usually fail for simple reasons. Many aren't Verizon's: in October 2026 the feeds we check listed T-Mobile and Amazon codes and tech-conference registration codes under Verizon. Others are for Verizon Business or Fios rather than mobile plans. And the discounts most people are actually after, like the student discount or Switch & Save, are never codes: you get them by verifying your eligibility or switching your number, and they appear in the final step of your order or on your bill.
More ways to pay less at Verizon
- Check your eligibility for the student or Those Who Serve discount before you shop.
- Set up Auto Pay and paper-free billing within 30 days for the $10/mo discount.
- If you're switching, port your number or upload a recent bill for the $15/mo Switch & Save discount.
- Spread a new phone over 12, 24, 36 or 48 months to suit your budget.
- Ask your employer about Verizon Deals at Work for home internet.
- Enter real promo codes in the shopping cart, before you click Checkout.
- Don't worry if your student or nurse discount isn't in the cart: it appears in the final step and on your bill.
