Trip.com promo codes can take real money off a hotel, flight, train or car rental, and they work best when you know where they go and which booking they fit. On top of the code, every eligible booking earns Trip Coins you can spend on your next trip. This guide shows exactly where to enter a Trip.com promo code, why a code can be refused, and how Trip Coins, member tiers and Trip.com's own travel sales add up, with every rule taken from Trip.com's own pages.

Where Trip.com promo codes come from
There are three places a working Trip.com code comes from:
- Trip.com's travel sale pages. Campaigns such as Go China and Go Japan show codes you claim with one tap, each labelled with the product it covers: hotels and homes, airport transfers, car rentals, attractions and tours, or trains.
- Your Trip.com account and app. Codes you collect are kept on the Promo Codes page of your account, ready for checkout.
- Partners such as banks and card issuers. These codes work when you pay with that partner's card, so check the payment rule before you book.
Where to enter a Trip.com promo code
Trip.com keeps the promo code in its own section of the checkout, just before payment:
- Sign in to your Trip.com account. Membership in Trip.com Rewards is free, signed-in bookings earn Trip Coins, and codes you have collected are waiting on the Promo Codes page.
- Choose your hotel, flight or other booking and continue to checkout.
- Fill in the traveler details, then find the "Promo codes" section. Add your code there before you pay. Trip.com applies one promo code per booking.
- Add Trip Coins if you have them. You can use Trip Coins together with a promo code, and 100 Trip Coins take about US$1 off a prepaid booking.
- Check the total before you pay. Make sure the discount shows, and get the details right first: Trip.com says a promo discount may not apply if the booking is changed after purchase.
Trip.com promo code not working? The usual reasons
When Trip.com turns a code down, it is almost always one of these:
- It is for a different product. Trip.com codes are often written for one product, so a hotel code will not work on a flight.
- The booking is below the minimum spend. Many codes need a minimum order value.
- It is for a first booking. Some codes are for new users only.
- It is marked App Only. Those codes work only in the Trip.com app.
- It needs a specific card. Bank and card partner codes need payment with that partner's card.
- It has run out. Sale codes come in limited quantities, first come, first served, and every code has an end date.
- The booking already has a code. Trip.com applies one promo code per booking.
Trip Coins: the saving on every eligible booking
Trip Coins are Trip.com's reward currency. You earn them on eligible bookings, reviews and promotions, and spend them like cash when you pay for your next prepaid booking. 100 Trip Coins are worth about US$1.
| Booking type | Trip Coins per US$100 spent (Silver) |
|---|---|
| Hotels | 50 |
| Cruises | 50 |
| Flight + Hotel | 35 |
| Flights | 20 |
| Trains (China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, UK, Europe and more) | 20 |
| Airport transfers | 20 |
| Car rentals | 15 |
| Group tours, private tours and custom trips | 15 |
| Insurance | 10 |
A few rules worth knowing:
- Coins follow what you actually pay. They are worked out on the final amount, after discounts, promo codes, gift cards and Trip Coins.
- Hotels earn fastest. At 50 Trip Coins per US$100, a hotel stay earns two and a half times what the same spend on flights does.
- When they arrive. Flight coins generally arrive soon after your tickets are issued. Hotel coins arrive 2 to 6 weeks after you complete your stay.
- How long they last. Coins from bookings are valid for 18 months, and coins from hotel reviews for 6 months, expiring on the last day of the expiry month.
- Reviews earn coins too. An approved hotel review earns 10 to 50 Trip Coins depending on length, plus 10 for a photo or video, 10 more if you post it within 3 days of your stay, and 50 more for a hotel with fewer than 15 reviews, up to 1,200 Trip Coins a month.
- Verify your email. Trip.com needs a verified email address before you can redeem Trip Coins.
Trip.com Rewards tiers
Trip.com Rewards is free to join, and the more you travel, the more each booking earns. Bookings count toward an upgrade once you complete your trip.
| Tier | How to reach it | Trip Coins earned | Added perks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | Register | Standard rate | Trip Coins on eligible bookings |
| Gold | 1 eligible booking | 20% more | Trip Coins at a higher rate |
| Platinum | 3 eligible bookings after reaching Gold | 50% more | Free airport lounge visit, 1GB global eSIM data |
| Diamond | 8 eligible bookings (US$1,000 total) after reaching Platinum | 100% more | More lounge visits, 3GB eSIM, airport transfer car upgrades, train refunds with no admin fee |
| Diamond+ | US$10,000 spent after reaching Diamond | 150% more | All of the above, more often, plus a free attraction ticket |
| Black Diamond | By invitation | 200% more | The most of every perk |

Coupon research and editing
We are the people behind SaversPrice. We find codes and deals for hundreds of stores and check them on the retailer’s own site wherever we can, and the ones confirmed there carry a green Verified badge, so you can see at a glance which codes we checked. Offers come down once they expire or their sale ends, and when 6,000 stale coupons failed our check, we deleted them.
